The ultimate road going Porsche - a 962?

The most successful Porsche sports racer of all time, the 962, enjoyed a great reign. Designed by Norbert Singer, who was also head of Porsche Motorsport and oversaw all 16 LeMans victories, replaced the 956. It was in production from 1984 until 1991. Powered by a 3 litre flat six with twin KKK turbo's. Race fans will remember fondly the iconic works 962's sponsored by Rothmans with great drivers like Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell. There was a lot of demand for the 962 and no shortage of customers - Joest, Kremer and Brun the most notable. Of the total production run of 91 cars, 16 were works cars and 75 sold to customers. Over the years they have become highly prized by collectors, and some are still competing in historic races. Un-believeably, A small number of chassis have been converted for road use - a fully road legal Group C race car? how wild is that? well take a look at this video of one example that was created by Koenig, the C62.
